The Nobel Prize in Chemistry goes to…


Or, more specifically, to the German who developed the field of solid surface chemistry, making fuel cells (like the one above) possible. Fuel cells are thought by many to be the future’s power source for automobiles. As you can see in the diagram above, a Hydrogen fuel cell’s only by-product is H2O. Then there is the question of how you generate all that H2 fuel, but that will just have to fall to some other Nobel prize winner to figure out.
