You think this is rain?

Associated Press/Seattle P-I

After reading about the storms in the northwest US, I’m repeating this mantra this morning:

I will not complain about the weather in Stockholm.

I will not complain about the weather in Stockholm.

I will not complain…

Five people died in the storms, which in Seattle brought down nearly 4 inches (10 cm) of water yesterday. The photo is from Centralia, WA, which was probably hardest-hit by the storm, with floods of up to 10 feet. In the center, you see where Interstate 5, the US’s main west-coast north/south highway, is half-submerged in the flood. Twenty miles of I-5 are closed.

In an ironic twist, early in the week the Northwest got massive amounts of snow, exciting lowland residents about the possibility of excellent skiing conditions in the mountains. That mountain snow has now mostly melted under the rain storms.

You still get to complain about the hours of darkness in the winter, however.
